Honouring Canada on Canada Day
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Honouring Canada on Canada Day: Announcing Our Little Canucks, a new 36-Story series celebrating our regions—and supporting better child development.
Happy Canada Day!
Today, we are proud to announce Our Little Canucks, our newest literary series designed to celebrate Canada’s rich regional diversity while also addressing the social development issues that children face across our country.
Spanning 36 engaging stories for young to middle-aged readers, Our Little Canucks will explore Canada’s varied geography, landscapes, and cultural heritage—from the Atlantic coast to the Northern territories, the prairies to the urban centres. But beyond showcasing our beautiful nation, this series has a clear mission: to reflect the real challenges Canadian children encounter in different regions and to model solutions that support healthier social development.
Each story will thoughtfully address regionally relevant issues—for example:
Rural and Northern access to education and healthcare
Urban poverty and housing insecurity
Indigenous cultural preservation and reconciliation
Newcomer integration and multicultural understanding
Environmental change and its impact on communities
Mental health and well-being in isolated or underserved areas
Aligned with the United Nations’ Child Development Index and Sustainable Development Goals, Our Little Canucks will provide age-appropriate narratives that foster empathy, resilience, inclusivity, and problem-solving. Through relatable characters and region-specific plots, readers will see both the unique strengths of their communities and meaningful models for overcoming challenges.
This series is our tribute to the spirit of Canada: a land of remarkable diversity, resilience, and shared values of care and equity for all children.
Stay tuned for more details on launch dates and the regions we’ll feature. We can’t wait to share these important Canadian stories with you.
Happy Canada Day!
