May 1st - LONDON, ON – Today marks the official launch of Hawthorn Quill Publishing, a proudly Canadian independent press dedicated to publishing beautiful, meaningful stories crafted by Canadian authors and illustrators. With a focus on literary children's books, illustrated tales, and gentle fantasy, the press opens its catalogue with fifteen original series—and more on the way.
Committed to championing 100% Canadian creators, Hawthorn Quill Publishing is a nurturing home for stories rooted in imagination, nature, kindness, and quiet wonder. Each title is designed with care, featuring large print options, premium materials, and enchanting illustrations that honour the timeless magic of storytelling.
Meet the Authors:
Anna Ashford – Author of the Fernshire Mysteries, a historical middle-grade mystery series with charm and clues aplenty.
Eloise Belleveau – Creator of the bilingual Châtenay Fables and Les Petits de Châtenay, two delightful series teaching French and English through animal tales. Roll out of single and bilingual readers as well as other languages from A1 to B2 levels.
Eva Bey – Writer of Crabby Tidepool Tales and Kingswell Bears Collection, as well as upcoming spinoff titles Spindle the Spider and Hugh Takes a Trip.
Audrey Hawthorn - Author of the Dragonborn series, epic animal fantasy where a young shapeshifter uncovers his Dragonborn lineage and must restore balance to a realm on the brink of ruin.
Rafaela Mata – Creator of The Adventures of Saltwhisker, a swashbuckling nautical fantasy starring a brave sea captain and mythical dangers.
Eliza Thorncroft – Author & Illustrator of Hedgerow Hollows Tales, Mice of Moonlit Meadows, Cozy Burrows and Little Burrows - all lyrical series exploring woodland life and quiet magic.

Adventures of Saltwhisker – High-seas animal fantasy filled with maps, pirates, and maritime lore.
Châtenay Fables & Les Petits de Châtenay– animal fables in English, French, and othe languages, ideal for early language learning.
Cozy Burrows Chronicles & Little Burrows Whispers– Sweet seasonal tales set in a bustling animal village.
Crabby Tidepool Tales – Colourful seaside stories for young readers exploring friendship and discovery.
Fernshire Mysteries – Middle-grade sleuth stories filled with mystery, mischief, and ribbons gone missing.
Hedgerow Hollows Tales – Cozy early reader stories featuring woodland creatures and heartwarming moments.
Kingswell Bears Collection– A gentle woodland series about courage, community, and seasonal traditions. Along with Spindle the Spider & Hugh Takes a Trip, spinoff series.
Mice of Moonlit Meadows - A soft fantasy adventure series with poetic storytelling and magical meadows.
